DSM Niaga
From 2018 to 2022 I photographed for DSM Niaga. They developed materials for a circular economy, built on a simple idea: whatever you make, you should be able to take apart again.
Carpet you could take apart completely and use again, without the toxic bonds that normally make that impossible.
For four years I followed production: recycled PET bottles turning into yarn, carpet being woven and checked, layers joined with recyclable glue. From raw material to finished product.
The images went into DSM Niaga's image bank and into Provenance, a blockchain platform that made every step of production traceable.
